On behalf of the professional law enforcement team of the Keller Police Department, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for visiting our web site.  We are very proud of our department and welcome the chance to share our success with the region and Internet subscribers.

The Keller Police Department serves a thriving and rapidly growing community of over 38,000 citizens.  The City of Keller is located within a center of major commercial and residential growth bounded by the major cities of Fort Worth, Dallas, and Denton, Texas.  Major transportation routes within the area include the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to the East, and Alliance Airport to the West, as well as several major highways.

The City of Keller presently has one of the lowest crime rates within Texas and is far below the national or state average crime rates.  Our success can be attributed to the support of the community and the professionalism of the men and women of our department.

The Keller Police Department provides value-driven law enforcement services to the community and numerous programs to improve community safety.  We are very active within the local school district providing drug and violence prevention programs, a School Resource Officer, on-campus crime and victimization support, mentoring, and other activities.  We also provide self-help and crime prevention programming to local businesses, neighborhood groups, and special programming for our senior citizens.

We currently operate a regional communications center and jail as we partnered with the City of Southlake to provide these key public safety services. We also provide full police services for the Town of Westlake.

We have 82 employees, with 51 sworn peace officers.  Our officers handle over 79,000 calls-for-service per year (citizen and officer initiated), prepare 2,100 case reports, make over 1,600 arrests, and write approximately 12,000 citations annually.  Dispatch personnel within the police department handle over 148,000
in-coming phone calls per year, many requesting police, fire, or emergency medical services.

As you can see, we are an active department within a growing community. We are dedicated to high standards and integrity.  Our department will continue to reflect our philosophy of E4  -  Empathy, Edification, Enthusiasm, and Excellence.  Please feel free to contact me personally or any other member of our team as we look forward to serving your needs.
